Writing 2 — free production on plastic bags (8 marks)

1 questionCorrigé masqué

Writing — Task 2 (free / semi-controlled production, about 8 marks).

The use of plastic bags in Tunisia has become a real concern for society and for the environment.

Write a twelve-line article for your school magazine to state the threats of this phenomenon for our world and culture of daily shopping, and suggest some solutions. Mention at least three ideas (threats and/or solutions). Keep a global perspective: local habits, climate pressure on the environment, and shared responsibility in society.

Model article (≈12 lines)

Plastic bags still fill markets across Tunisia, yet their cost to the environment is no longer invisible. First, light bags travel with the wind and end up in rivers and the sea, where animals mistake them for food. Moreover, plastic does not disappear quickly; it breaks into pieces that pollute soil and water for years. This is a global problem as well as a local one: the same culture of convenience appears in many countries. Society can change, however. Shops can charge for single-use bags and offer cloth alternatives. Schools can run campaigns so young people refuse free plastic and carry a reusable bag. Finally, clear laws and daily habits together protect the climate of trust between citizens and the planet. Small choices in the market are part of a wider global duty.

Assessment criteria (official wording — 2018 contrôle)

- Content (relevance of ideas) — 3 marks: threats and solutions; ideas stay on plastic bags / environment / society.
- Language (grammar and vocabulary) — 3 marks.
- Mechanics of writing (spelling, punctuation / capitalization) — 2 marks.

A strong script is about twelve lines, organised, and free of off-topic digressions.

Méthode / Automatismes

Open with the concern (Tunisia + environment). Develop two threats with world / global reach. Offer two solutions that society can apply. Close with shared responsibility. Check capitalisation of Tunisia and first words of sentences.

Pièges classiques

Do not turn the article into a pure technology essay about machines. Stay on plastic, environment, society and global habits. Empty slogans without solutions lose content marks.
